Established a Power BI reporting system consisting of a Power BI Gateway and multiple workspaces at a growing mid-size manufacturing site in South Carolina, which has continued to grow domestically and internationally at an exceptional rate in 2023. This involved the creation of a multitude of Power BI reports across multiple departments including Operations, Shipping, Sales, Quality and Samples. These reports were published to the Power BI Service across multiple workspaces designed to serve the specific groups involved, so only the persons authorized could view them. Specific reports used Row Level Security (RLS) enabling us to further restrict users to only the data that was relevant to them while publishing just a single report. The project’s big benefits were affordability, reliability of data, near real time information, among others. It was a very affordable solution reducing the use of multiple Excel files that would routinely become corrupted and provided reports that refresh automatically on a schedule making real time data at once available through a standard browser. It has truly been a game changer for managing the business more effectively. Managers now spend more time managing the business instead of sifting through data in Excel.
